Exchange 2003 Store Recovery Group

If the current mailbox store is corrupt (but mountable) and you cannot repair it.. Dismount mailbox store. Move pri1.x and logs to a backup folder. Create recovery group, put db on drive with enough space. Click recovery group and select Add db to recover. Select svr. In db tab change .edb and .stm files to match original names (pri1.x ?) Click ok. Goto that location (no files should be there), copy original .edb and.stm files in from backup folder. These match the names the we edited when we created recovery store. Mount recovery store (yes to warning msg). Refresh and you should see mailboxes. Mount original store. "Warning files are missing and will create blanks".. this is what we want.. click Yes Click mailboxes and refresh.. none should be there apart from system created ones. Go back to recovery store, mailboxes. Select a mailbox to move back and select exchange tasks. Select next to "Merge data", next to end. They are now in original store.

This went on for awhile, they only offered me a replacement for £120, I was sure they said upgrade to a 4s too. I didnt accept as i didnt believe apple should be asking for more money when their product quality control and reliability has been so shockingly poor. I ended up walking o

Shared Folder Overlay Server 2008, 2011, Win7 Gone

As you may have noticed in 2008, 2011 & Win7 the shared icon was removed by Microsoft. You can enable this again without hacks, but Microsoft have built in   a column. Right click a column and select “More”, Scroll down to “S” and you will see three new options. The two worth using are; “Sharing Status” = “Shared” OR “Not shared” “Shared with” = “Administrators, Domain Users” etc
